The TTPS is promising a greater police presence, especially within communities.
And according to Deputy Police Commissioner Junior Benjamin, this will be done in partnership with other national security bodies.
He spoke during a media briefing held today by the TTPS.
The briefing also saw mention of the double murder in Cumuto: the bodies of 60-year-old Kumari Baksh and 67-year-old Nasheed Baksh were found last night.
They are believed to be victims of a home invasion and their deaths bring the 2025 murder toll up to 7 in 10 days.
While this is less than the same period last year, many are questioning the effectiveness of the current State of Emergency.
When asked about long term plans beyond the SoE, DCP Benjamin says the TTPS is looking to build on work currently being done.
