The TTPS says the murder toll so far this year is not just lower when compared to the same period last year, but also when compared to the average for the last three years.

Speaking during a media briefing on Monday was DCP Junior Benjamin, who gave the 2025 murder toll as 26.

He then went on to make the comparison.

Regarding the TTPS’ actions during the State of Emergency, DCP Benjamin said there have been at least 1,617 operations targeting 1,393 priority offenders, and 9,973 searches.

He adds that 1,278 persons were arrested, of which at least 484 have been charged.
