A local dancehall artiste has been granted one million dollars bail with surety for charges relating to a shooting incident in Speyside, Tobago.

Around 11:55 pm on May 3rd 2024, several persons were standing outside a bar along Windward Road, when a white Nissan Tiida slowed and several loud explosions were heard.

Six persons were wounded.

Yesterday, 26-year-old Kalonji Arthur appeared virtually before Master Magaret Sookraj Goswami on six counts – wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm, shooting with intent, possession of a firearm to endanger life, possession of ammunition to endanger life, possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition.

The matter will next be heard on February 26th 2025.
