T&T wicketkeeper batter Joshua Da Silva says he will pour his heart out for West Indies on day three of the first Test against Australia, with the regional team in trouble in the second innings.
Guyana fast bowler Shamar Joseph’s fantastic debut continued as he took a five-wicket haul to help bowl out Australia for 283 in response to West Indies’ first innings 188.
However, batting a second time, West Indies were torn apart Josh Hazlewood’s 4/18 to end day two on 73/6 – trailing still by 22 runs.
Da Silva remained not out on 17 and will be joined by a new batter when day three begins tonight, T&T time.
Speaking after the day’s play, he admitted that the batters were not up to the task in the second innings, but he committed to putting up a fight with the lower order on day three.
He said, “We have Alzarri (Joseph) who has Test runs as well and Roachy (Kemar Roach) can hold his own as well. We saw Shamar Joseph come at the end there and play some shots. So, it’s not over yet and I’m coming tomorrow to pour my heart out for West Indies.”
