CXC says it will not cut the Agricultural Science subject for CSEC, following rumours that caused concern within the region.
Today, Education Ministers from the various Caribbean islands met with top CXC officials regarding the reported suspension of several science-based syllabuses.
They agreed to keep CAPE Green Engineering, CAPE Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology, CSEC Agri Science – double award and CSEC Industrial Technology –Mechanical Engineering.
The Ministers and CXC also agreed to promote priority subject areas in Science-Technology-Engineering-Art-Mathematics education and
climate-smart Agriculture.
These, they add, are critical for the region’s economic growth and sustainable development.
CXC says it has rolled out new generation technology and science syllabuses, but some are not yet in desired demand.
