CWI confirms organizational changes

Cricket West Indies has confirmed several organisational changes.

In a statement today, it says one of the components being assessed as part of the new cricket strategy is the selection system, saying it will further explore the strengthening of this area, building on the established policy from the 2019 selection review.

In this regard, it announced the end of the contracts of some selectors on December 31st 2023, namely Roland Butcher, Travis Dowlin, and Robert Haynes.

CWI says they will not be immediately replaced until the completion of the review process, with the remaining Lead Selectors to continue serving under their existing contracts.

Also departing is Coach Development Manager, Chris Brabazon, who is due to take up a new role in his native Australia.

Contracts have also ended for Commercial, Marketing and Communications Director Dominic Warne and Media and Public Relations Manager Philip Spooner- however CWI says both will continue lending support in the year ahead, in new roles working directly on the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in June.

The CWI’s announcements come as it prepares for 2024, which will see the launch of a new four-year strategic plan (2024-27) and the hosting of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in June.
