Operations at the Point Fortin Desalination Plant have been cut back due to high levels of algae bloom in the intake area.
The plant is owned and operated by Seven Seas Water.
It usually supplies WASA with 5.5 million gallons per day, however this has now been reduced to 4.38 million gallons per day.
As a result of the reduced output, the following areas may now experience disruptions or low water pressure: Point Fortin proper, parts of Techier, Vance River, Parrylands, Cochrane, Mahaica, Lot 10, Cochrane, Savannah, Harriman Park, Clifton Hill, Reservoir Hill, Merrimac, Vessigny, TGU, La Brea (up to the Pitch Lake).
SSW says every effort is being made to return the facility to full production at the earliest possible time.
