Cumuto businesswoman in court for fraud

A Cumuto woman was remanded into custody after appearing in court charged with fraud.

A victim reported to police that between October 4th 2014 and February 2nd 2015, $120,000 was paid to the director of a vehicle importation company for a Nissan Wingroad and an AD Wagon.

The vehicles were not delivered as promised in August 2015 and a refund of just $20,000 was received.

Following in investigation by the Fraud Squad, 35-year-old Rianne Fouchong aka ‘Rianne Power-Bernard’ was arrested and charged with Fraudulent Conversion in the sum of $100,000.

The TTPS says 11 warrants were also executed on the accused for her non-attendance in court on several fraud matters.

Fouchong appeared today before Arima Magistrate Brambhanan Dubay, with the matter adjourned to October 11th 2023.
