The Caribbean Premier League will donate US$20,000 donation to two charities in Trinidad and Tobago.

In a statement, it says the money will be equally shared between Rainbow Rescue and the Caribbean Kids & Families Therapy Organisation.

These charities were chosen following discussions with President Christine Kangaloo, who highlighted the important work being done by both with young people in T&T.

Rainbow Rescue is a home for socially displaced boys between the ages of 10 and 18.

The home was founded 1999 by Judy Wilson who was deeply concerned with the increasing population of boys on the streets of Trinidad & Tobago.

The boys were assessed as being severely “at risk” due to poverty, breakdown in family life, toxic environments and abuse.

CKFTO provides therapies and services to children with disabilities in Trinidad & Tobago.

Their aim is to provide affordable, professional and empathetic therapeutic services to children with special needs.

They also aim to provide support and empowerment to families of children with special needs and to educate and involve T&T in creating an open and caring society for all those with special needs.

We very much hope that this is the start of a long term relationship with both organisations and are pleased that by donating to both charities we are also supporting Her Excellency The President’s agenda of helping young people in need across Trinidad & Tobago.”
