Council for Responsible Political Behaviour to begin monitoring campaign activities

With the Election date announced, the Council for Responsible Political Behaviour says it will immediately start its monitoring activities to evaluate ALL political parties, candidates and their supporters as to their adherence to the Code of Ethical Political Conduct.

The Code of Ethical Political Conduct has been in existence since 2014 and calls upon all parties, candidates and supporters to campaign in a manner that upholds the integrity of the electoral process by maintaining the highest moral principles and ethical standards, while avoiding prohibited conduct.

The Council says it monitors the election campaign period primarily through public complaints or reported breaches of the Code.

As such, it is inviting the public to submit reports of possible violations to the Code.

Such complaints can be made through a message to WhatsApp 793 4505 or via email to info@politicalethicstt.org.

It says a record of complaints is kept and all will be investigated in a timely manner.

The Council will then report on its deliberations to the national community weekly.
