Today is Corpus Christi and the Prime Minister believes it is a day to show thanks to God for His presence.
Dr Keith Rowley noted that some may question the call to find purpose through God in the 21st century, but urged people to extend God’s gift – the spirit of community – every day.
Meanwhile, Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar believes this is a day that reinforces that embracing God enables Him to use people as His instruments of peace, compassion, love, wisdom, justice and mercy.
She notes that Corpus Christi is also a timely reminder that faith-based values must also be passed on to the younger generations.
