Continued demonstrations outside Paria’s office

Today, the families of the deceased divers in the Paria pipeline tragedy continued their protest outside the company’s office in Pointe-a-Pierre.

They were accompanied by members of the OWTU, which continues to demand compensation for the families and for those implicated in the Lynch Report to be held accountable.

103.1FM News spoke today with Pointe a Pierre Branch President Christopher Jackman, who says a letter with their requests was sent last week.

Mr Jackman points out that while Paria continues to donate to schools and other causes, it has not yet given anything to those impacted by the pipeline tragedy.

He adds that in addition to demonstrations, the Union also plans to seek interventions.

This month, the OWTU also plans to mark two years since the tragedy on February 25th 2022.
