Companies Amnesty extended

The Attorney General’s Office has announced an extension of the Companies Amnesty.

This, it adds, is to give companies one final opportunity to comply with the Companies Act.

The compliance is in terms of filing their annual returns and returns of beneficial ownership, among other things, before the provisions of the Act are strictly enforced.

The Companies Amnesty will now continue until January 31st 2025.

The statement from the AG’s Office goes on to say, “The Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of Legal Affairs urges the relevant stakeholders of the Companies Registry to comply with the obligations under The Companies Act, in order to uphold the country’s international taxation responsibilities.”
