The Coast Guard says it is aware that one of its members is currently in police custody assisting with an ongoing investigation.
In a statement it also assures that it holds
members to a high standard of discipline and does not condone any behavior in breach of T&T’s laws.
While the TTCG did not specify which matter, it may refer to the case of Diego Roper, whose body was found on September 12th 2024.
The TTPS says a 19-year-old Coast Guard officer from Diego Martin and a 22-year-old man from Belmont were held and are to be charged with murder.
