An unregistered vessel carrying a number of undocumented foreign nationals was intercepted by the Coast Guard this morning in the waters off South Trinidad.

The vessel was first observed around 9:43am southeast of Islote Point – it was detained after trying to use evasive measures.

On board were 27 foreign nationals: 16 adult males, eight adult females, and three male minors.

The persons and the vessel were taken escorted to the TTCG’s Headquarters in Staubles Bay, Chaguaramas.

The Immigration Division and Trinidad and Tobago Police Service were also informed.
