T&T must build on the values portrayed during this festive period, according to Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley.

In his Christmas message, he said that despite the upsurge in violent crimes and a lack of tolerance for each other, citizens still show their true character for the season.

He believes there is a need to build on these values, particularly that of family life, which he says is the key to the country’s social issues.

Meanwhile, Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar says Christmas 2023 met T&T and the entire world with challenging circumstances.

However, she believes this must be a strong motivation to aspire for peace on earth and goodwill for all.

She is also urging people to give and reach out selflessly to those in society who are deprived of the season’s unmatched merriment.
