Canadian content creator Christopher Hughes will stay in Trinidad to fight the charge against him.
After his last court appearance for a charge of publishing a statement with seditious intention, Hughes was given back his passport and told that he would be able to leave the country and return before his next court appearance in the coming week.
In a video uploaded to his Instagram this morning, he said while he would love to see his family, it did not make sense to fly out for just a few days.
He also dismissed claims that he intended to run from the charge, insisting that he wants to prove his innocence and clear his name.
Better known as Chris Must List, Hughes initially posted several videos in which he spoke to local gang members, some of whom brandished weapons.
Since being freed on bail, he has been sharing content filmed while visiting different parts of Trinidad and interacting with members of the public.
