China announces retaliatory tariffs against the US

Retaliatory tariffs have been unveiled by China following the United States’ 10% tariff on all Chinese goods.

According to BBC News, the Chinese tariffs would put a 15% import tax on US coal and liquefied natural gas, plus 10% on crude oil, agricultural machinery, pick-up trucks, and some sports cars.

US President Donald Trump says the tariffs against China are in response to trade deficits, and the flow of fentanyl into the US.

Meanwhile, proposed US tariffs of 25% on Canadian and Mexican goods have been postponed after last-minute talks.
