A 32-year-old Chaguanas man has been charged with the murder of an amputee.

The accused was due to appear in court today.

The charge stems from an incident that took place around 11:30am on  June 8th 2024, in which the victim was beaten and burned.

The TTPS says officers responding to a report of a wounding on Manic Street, Chaguanas found a burnt wheelchair.

Lying on the ground next to it was Perfector Edwards – he was taken to hospital but succumbed to his injuries several days later, on June 13th 2024.
