A local man and five Venezuelan nationals were held by police during an exercise in Arima yesterday.

Between 11am and 2pm, officers went to a house in the Heights of Guanapo, where a search was conducted.

They arrested the 22-year-old Chaguanas man for possession of a Glock 17 pistol, three magazines and 63 rounds of ammunition.

Five Venezuelan nationals who are in the country illegally were also found on the premises and held.
