The Police Commissioner is being urged to intervene in Chaguanas East, an area its MP says is being engulfed by crime.

MP Vandana Mohit says a doctor and his son were robbed at gunpoint in Point Pleasant, a farmer was robbed of his van in Endeavour and there was a shooting at Postman Drive, all in the past three days.

She claims, despite repeated calls for police action and crime mitigation measures, none is being undertaken.

The MP says there will be no further calls for the National Security Minister to resign or be fired, which is why her appeal for action is being made to Police Commissioner Erla Christopher.
