The CEPEP Company says an unfortunate situation on February 23rd led to a delay in the payment of salaries to workers.
In a statement, it did not go into detail about the issue, but thanked the Finance Minister for his immediate assistance and the Local Government Minister for his timely intervention.
It says salaries were paid to more than 9,600 workers on February 28th 2024.
The Company also thanked contractors and their workers for their patience saying it is cognizant of the fact that most are single parents who depend on their salaries being paid in a timely manner.
It adds that despite the issue, workers continued to report for duty and assured that efforts will be made to ensure this situation is not repeated in the future.
