The Central Bank has paused all work relating to the printing, preparation and designing of the 2025 series $100 banknote.
In a brief statement, it says this follows a request by the Finance Minister to suspend the printing of any new notes featuring the revised Coat of Arms until further notice.
The new notes were expected to enter public circulation by October 2025.
The new Coat of Arms features the steelpan in place of Columbus’ three ships, and was put into official use in February 2025.
