Caroni East MP Dr. Rishad Seecheran is calling on the Government to say when it intends to implement drastic and effective measures to curb crime.

He issued a statement today following the murder of security guard, Hasley Augustus in Chin Chin, Cunupia.

Dr Seecharan says he made appeals for increased surveillance, CCTV cameras, a police post, and the general provision of adequate resources to law enforcement officers.

He adds however that this has not been done, leaving communities in Caroni East vulnerable.

He says there have been brutal home invasions, car-jackings, assaults, and other acts of lawlessness.
