A Carlsen Field gardener has died after being struck by vehicles on the Uriah Butler Highway in Caroni last evening.

The deceased has been identified as 66-year-old Balraj Latchman.

According to police, around 7pm, a pedestrian tried to cross the highway but made contact with the wing mirror of a passing vehicle.

He stumbled and was then hit by several other vehicles.

Police say Latchman’s son later identified the body as that of his father.
