Caribbean Airlines: Airspace closures affect some flights

A number of airspace closures have affected three Caribbean Airlines flights.

This notice from the airline followed news that Space X’s Starship rocket had failed after lift-off from Texas yesterday.

Debris was reportedly seen in the sky in areas such as Turks and Caicos and Haiti’s capital of Port-au-Prince.

Caribbean Airlines’ flights BW 550 from Port of Spain to JFK and BW 526 from Port of Spain to JFK through Georgetown were changed to new aircraft and had a delayed departure.

Also, BW 551 from JFK to Port of Spain was delayed from 12:10am today to 3:50am.

There were reports locally of persons seeing planes circling the skies overnight.
