A 41-year-old Carenage man was detained following a stabbing on Ariapita Avenue on Saturday night.

Police say the victim allegedly had an argument at the corner of Alberto Street with a cigarette vendor about monies owed.

The vendor is said to have stabbed the man several times.

The victim was taken to hospital while the suspect was detained at the Woodbrook Police Station.
