CAL Boeing 737 flights affected by regional satellite outage

Caribbean Airlines Boeing 737 jet services are currently experiencing delays due to a regional outage with the SITA satellite communication system.

This system allows communication between pilots and air traffic controllers, especially in areas with limited or no ground-based communication infrastructure.

CAL says the issue is currently affecting all airlines using the system, but assures the service provider is working to resolve the matter in the shortest time.

It is advising travellers to monitor their flights’ status in the interim.

This communication system is used by 450 airport locations and more than 350 airlines.
