The Works and Transport Ministry has commissioned Bridge B1/11 on the Mayaro Guayaguayare Road.

Key elements of the completed works include:

• A widened roadway with two lanes of traffic, designed to accommodate increased load capacity, particularly for the transportation of heavy equipment and machinery essential for energy-sector activities in Galeota.
• Enhanced pedestrian access, ensuring greater safety and inclusivity for all road users.
• Upgraded drainage infrastructure, designed to improve run-off management and reduce maintenance needs.
• Clearer road markings to improve visibility and enhance safety for motorists.

Works Minister Rohan Sinanan says the bridge is a key part of efforts to enhance infrastructure in rural areas, improving access to the energy sector as well as critical services and opportunities for local communities.
