The all clear has been given, following bomb threats today at Naparima Girls’ High School and Naparima College.
103.1FM News spoke today with Ashford Tamby, Chairman of the Presbyterian Secondary School Board of Education, who says the threats were received via email this morning.
He says students from both schools were immediately evacuated to their respective muster points, with police and bomb squad called to investigate.
Naparima College was cleared first with students returning to class by lunchtime, while Naparima Girls High School was cleared in the early afternoon period.
Mr Tamby says this is the third such incident in the academic year, with two previous threats called in last term.
He says while they take such threats seriously, they are concerned with the frequency and hope the perpetrators are brought to justice.
He adds that students are the ones impacted the most, since they lose learning time.
