Legendary game show host Bob Barker has passed away at the age of 99.

Mr Barker is best known for hosting “The Price Is Right” from 1972 to 2007.

He also made appearances in a number of  TV shows and movies over the years, playing himself in many instances.

His death was announced in a statement from his publicist Roger Neal: “It is with profound sadness that we announce that the World’s Greatest MC who ever lived, Bob Barker has left us.”

Mr Barker’s girlfriend Nancy Burnet also issued a statement saying, “I am so proud of the trailblazing work Barker, and I did together to expose the cruelty to animals in the entertainment industry and including working to improve the plight of abused and exploited animals in the United States and internationally. We were great friends over these 40 yrs. He will be missed.”
