The cricket pitch at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy for a recent T20 Men’s World Cup match was rated ‘unsatisfactory’ by the ICC.
The Council zoned in on the semi-final between South Africa and Afghanistan, where the latter were bowled out for 56.
The ICC found that the pitches for the first two matches in New York were also unsatisfactory.
This rating is just one notch above the worst grade on its scale.
The council was largely happy with the state of the outfields, with New York and Guyana receiving “satisfactory” ratings, while the others were deemed “very good”.
