Blake Lively is seeking to withdraw two claims — for intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress — in her ongoing lawsuit against director Justin Baldoni. The two have been in a legal dispute since December 2024, following their work on It Ends With Us, with Lively accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment and launching a smear campaign.
Baldoni’s legal team requested Lively’s medical and therapy records to counter her claims of emotional suffering. Instead of complying, Lively moved to drop the distress claims — but not “with prejudice,” leaving the door open to refile them.
Baldoni’s lawyers criticized the move, while Lively’s team called his filing a “press stunt,” saying they were streamlining the case. She still alleges emotional distress as part of her remaining claims, including sexual harassment and retaliation.
The case has escalated since Baldoni counter-sued Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds in January, and briefly pulled in Taylor Swift, who was later cleared of any involvement.
