The Trinidad and Tobago Solid Waste Management Company Limited says a fire that broke out at the Beetham Landfill on Friday has now been extinguished.
In an advisory issued Sunday, SWMCOL said crews are still managing residual smoke that may intermittently affect nearby communities.
Motorists travelling along the Beetham Highway are being urged to exercise caution.
The landfill is expected to resume normal operating hours on Monday.
