Barry Padarath responds to video shared by former PM Dr Keith Rowley

“Doctored and altered” – that is how Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, Barry Padarath described a video shared on social media this morning by former Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley.

The video was a walkthrough in a section of the Prime Minister’s official residence, which Dr Rowley said showed the state of the facility when he left recently.

In a Facebook LIVE video, Mr Padarath insisted the video does not reflect what was found when they visited the premises on Monday.

He reiterated the problems encountered, adding that work has begun to address the issue of sewage and stagnant water on the outside of the building.

Mr Padarath also showed the state of the security area at the entrance, saying it lacks a working pedestrian scanner, working baggage scanner and air conditioning.

Featured in the LIVE video as well was Wendy Rocke, who oversees management and upkeep of the residence – according to her, $5 million is needed to address the issues and facilitate upgrades.

Mr Padarath has since vowed to do a similar LIVE video at Whitehall.
