A senior policeman is seeking to debunk claims made following the murders of a woman and her one-year-old daughter in Barrackpore.

After yesterday’s killings of Tara Ramsaroop and little Jada and the arrest of a male relative, her family claimed police did not act on protection orders.

Speaking to 103.1FM News this morning, Assistant Commissioner of Police Wayne Mystar responded to the allegations.

103.1FM News also asked ACP Mystar about claims that police did not respond to numerous reports of domestic violence.

We also asked for a comment on a recent PCA report on domestic violence which pointed to cases in which officers failed to act and the complainant ended up dead.
