Barbados: Some PSV drivers suspend evening services due to crime

Some privately owned public service vehicle (PSV) operators in Barbados have suspended evening services due to concerns about crime.

Barbados Today adds that the state-owned Transport Board said it could not increase capacity to meet the shortfall, sparking fears that commuters could be left stranded in some cases.

The article says drivers have decided to stop plying their routes between 4:40pm and 5pm every day.

The decision follows robberies on Saturday night in which two motorists in St Philip had their vehicles stolen in separate incidents.
