The 45th CARICOM Heads of Government Meeting, held in T&T, has concluded, with a commitment regarding regional movement.
At yesterday’s closing ceremony at the Hyatt Regency, Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley spoke.
She said the Treaty of Chaguaramas – the document which created CARICOM – will be amended to speak to the free movement of people among member states.
Ms Mottley added that Caribbean Airlines is expected to sign an agreement with Barbados to increase flights, but noted existing challenges with regional air travel.
Meanwhile, Martinique and Curacao are expected to confirm their CARICOM membership next month.
