Barbados’ Prime Minister Mia Mottley says she will lead the Barbados Labour Party into the next General Election.

This announcement came as a reversal of decision she originally made in January 2022, after she said that she would not contest another General Election.

The Barbados Nation reported the Prime Minister’s decision came after reflection, a deepened sense of duty and calls from the Barbados Labour Party.

Citing the ongoing global instability, Ms Mottley said the country deserves leadership that can offer stability and steadiness.

She pledged to continue her work on behalf of Barbadians and deliver the transformation the country needs.
