Barataria/ San Juan MP, Saddam Hosein has criticized WASA for its handling of the water disruption impacting North Trinidad.

Mr. Hosein believes WASA’s communication has collapsed since it has failed to provide proper and effective updates to keep the population informed about the on-going repairs.

He was also critical about the lack of a timeline for the restoration of service and accused WASA of having little or no comprehensive plans in place to competently handle a matter of this magnitude.

Additionally, Mr Hosein was critical of the Public Utilities Minister and called on him to ensure a speedy resolution to the situation.

An estimated 250,000 persons from Piarco to Woodbrook have been affected by the issue, which is due to a leaking 48 inch pipeline at the Caroni Water Treatment Plant.
