Banks, boost your data security

THE situation at the banks is indeed a very serious and concerning issue.

The unauthorised disclosure of confidential information by bank employees to criminals is a breach of trust that has farreaching consequences. This not only jeopardises the financial security of customers, but also exposes them to the threats of harassment and extortion by criminal organisations.

The citizens living in fear of being targeted by the underworld due to leaked information is a grave matter. This fear is not only detrimental to their peace of mind but also erodes their trust in the financial institutions meant to safeguard their assets.

It is essential for banks to take strict measures to prevent such data breaches, and to educate their employees on the importance of data security.

Furthermore, the inability of the police to effectively protect citizens exacerbates the problem.

Law enforcement agencies should work in collaboration with banks and other relevant authorities to investigate and prosecute individuals involved in these data breaches. Strengthening cybersecurity measures and implementing robust internal controls within banks can help prevent such incidents.

In the long run, it is imperative for the Government to enact stringent laws and regulations that deter bank employees from engaging in such activities, and hold them accountable for their actions.

Citizens’ trust in the financial system and their safety should be a top priority, and concerted efforts are required to address this pressing issue and protect their interests.
