A robbery suspect was shot in the leg during holdup yesterday.

Around 7:45am, two men approached a man in his garden at La Retreat Road in the Heights of Guanapo.

The suspects pointed a pistol and a rifle at the man, who drew and fired his licensed gun after the suspects allegedly shot at him.

One of the suspects fled the scene while the other injured man was later arrested by police and taken to the Arima Health Facility for treatment.

Officers also found and seized a 9-mm pistol with a magazine containing 15 rounds of ammunition, an extended pistol magazine containing 26 rounds of ammunition, and a rifle magazine with 26 rounds of ammunition.
