A man was shot dead by security officers at one of the entrances to Long Circular Mall this afternoon.

According to reports, the bandit was attempting to carjack a woman, when her screams alerted nearby officers.

A shootout ensued, during which time the suspect was killed and a security officer injured.

Officers from the Western Division and the Homicide Bureau responded to the scene.
