Bad weather in the forecast for T&T

T&T may soon experience bad weather.

According to the TT Met Service, an area of low pressure north-northeast of the Lesser Antilles has induced a couple of low level troughs across the Leeward Islands.

It says this is working in tandem with the instability and convergence ahead of an approaching tropical wave which could reach T&T near mid-day tomorrow.

Out of this system, an elongated area of thunderstorm activity is approaching T&T from the east-northeast.

The TTMS says from late morning today, Tobago can initially begin seeing some cloudy weather with a medium chance for isolated thunderstorm activity.

Trinidad, initially in northern and eastern areas, is expected to experience the same soon after.

Meanwhile, the TTMS says the axis of another tropical wave is presently located in the central Atlantic.

Depending on its path and variability in forward motion, it says the axis of this wave should reach the Lesser Antilles around Saturday.
