The body of a baby was found this morning in a garbage bag along Saddle Road in Maraval.

The shocking discovery was made around 6am by a sanitation worker who observed a hand sticking out of a bag.

Upon further inspection, the tiny body was found.

The infant was pronounced dead at the scene and taken away pending a post mortem.

The scene was visited by ASP Brown, W/Ag Insp De Gale, Sgt Panchu as well as Supt Douglas, Sgt Seecharan and other officers of Homicide Region 1.
