An attorney-at-law was granted $350,000 bail after appearing before a Port of Spain Magistrate charged with Larceny.

A victim reported to police that between December 2021 and April 2022, they paid a total of $224,625 for the provision of legal services in relation to a High Court matter.

Subsequent checks with the Court allegedly revealed that the attorney did not provide the services promised and attempts to have the money refunded were unsuccessful.

Following enquiries, attorney Kavita Persad was charged.

She appeared in Court on June 3rd, with the matter adjourned to July 2nd.
