Arima’s MP Pennelope Beckles-Robinson says she will continue to monitor the situation at Aripo, where the recent adverse weather caused a landslip in the area.
In a Facebook post today, the MP said she and the Village Council President visited the community early this morning to assess the extent of the damages.
She added that the Works Ministry and Tunapuna Piarco Regional Corporation are aware of the situation and will work to assess and address the issue.
Mrs Beckles-Robinson committed to continue her efforts to advocate for improvements and assistance needed to rebuild and strengthen the community.
Earlier this week, Local Government Minister Khadijah Ameen spoke of the partial collapse of the main road in Aripo, which she attributed to the non-maintenance and negligence by the previous administration.
