Arima man to reappear in court for security officer’s murder

An Arima man will reappear before a Chaguanas Magistrate on Monday, to answer to a murder charge.

57-year-old Carl Cox was remanded at the Golden Grove Prison after his previous court appearance.

He surrendered to police after the death of Taramattie Maharaj, a security officer at the St. Helena Hindu Primary School.

She was at work on April 8th when she was set on fire after an altercation with a man.

Ms Maharaj died at hospital more than one month later.
