Another firearms and ammunition bust has been conducted in Santa Cruz.
Between 1pm and 7pm yesterday, police went approximately two miles into a forested area where they found eight guns and ammunition.
They also discovered rifle magazines, lower receivers, assault rifle parts, items from police kits, four police bulletproof vests and blue swivel lights.
There has been no word on any arrests in connection with the find.
However, Police Commissioner Erla Christopher said the bust is expected to impact the incidence of violent crimes like homicides and home invasions.
This find follows a similar bust conducted a week ago in Santa Cruz, which has been described as T&T’s largest ever seizure of illegal firearms.
