Another dengue death has been confirmed in T&T.
In an update on July 20th 2024, the Health Ministry said there were now four lab confirmed dengue deaths and 392 lab confirmed cases of the illness.
In its previous update issued on July 17th 2024, there were three lab confirmed deaths and 303 lab confirmed cases.
Dengue Fever may be spread by the bite of an infected Aedes aegypti mosquito.
Symptoms appear within 5-6 days of being bitten, last for 1-2 weeks and can include:
- Fever
- Headaches (sometimes severe)
- Pain behind eyes
- Muscle and joint pains
- Skin rash
- Nausea / Vomiting
- Diarrhoea
Anyone showing signs or symptoms of Dengue Fever is advised to seek immediate medical treatment.
